Square Wave was born in the UK and designed by the renowned artist Ivan Black, a specialist in kinetic sculptures and intricate handcrafted works of art. Ivan Black was never willing to sacrifice quality, when he decided to produce Square Wave, he wanted to make sure it retained all of its integrity and stayed in line with his design principles. Kinetrika has been extremely proud to specialise in producing Square Wave to the highest standard possible; each sculpture is produced by hand in one of the most stunning mountainous regions of Italy, near gushing streams and glistening lakes. We believe that a beautiful workspace will inspire beautiful work. In a world where we are willing to pay less and less money for what we make, the real price hits us where we least expect it, championing good ethics is essential to creating a future we can all live in.

Square Wave Specs
Each Square Wave comes in an elegant box, ideal for a perfect gift. It also comes with a hanging kit (we now also offer a dedicated magnetic stand sold separately). Each and every Square Wave is handmade in Italy, near Lake Como, by expert artisans, using exclusively high quality certified materials 100% sourced in Europe. Square Wave dimensions are: 9.8 Inches / 25cm x 9,8 Inches / 25cm and it weights 0.24 Pounds / 110 g. the main component is: S234JR pre-galvanized steel, the highest quality chrome plated steel or the best plating available for the model. Square Wave is made to last outdoors as well and each order is tracked and insured. You will receive an email with your tracking number as soon as your parcel leaves our warehouse.

Square Wave was designed with the intention to be so much more than a simple sculpture. Art goes deeper than aesthetics and square wave is art in the sense that is has the ability to do beautiful things, rather than simply being beautiful. Over the last months, we have received a number of touching letters and messages indicating that Square Wave has helped people living with PTSD and Autism. In its own small way, Square Wave has helped to alleviate stress and be a calming factor for so many and for that we are very grateful. We have been very pleased to hear your stories and our community is growing every day. We have been very proud to do our part in offering a caring hand and to have the privilege of being there for our community.

Amethyst is so much more than a name, in fact, so many of Square Wave’s sculptures are linked to one common theme… nature. Our sculptures replicate the intricate and graceful patterns formed by the Fibonacci sequence in the natural world, in short, a piece of Square Wave can be found in every natural thing. Minerals such as Bismuth, Quartz and a number of other precious stones contain the flowing patterns found in Square Wave. Amethysts are no exception, their complex maze-like structures shimmer rays of soft purples and hints of ebony, which beckon the viewer deeper, just like Square Wave’s enchanting mandrels.
